Associated Students Inc. (ASI) approved nearly $17,000 to three different campus organizations in last week’s Senate meeting on Thursday, March 14.
Sen. Pro Tempore Rachel Hunter led the meeting in ASI Vice President Pasindu Senaratne’s absence.
ASI granted $6,000 for CPP’s chapter of Psi Chi to attend this year’s Western Psychological Association (WPA) convention.
More than 50 percent of the group’s members were accepted to present their empirical research at the Psi Chi poster session at the upcoming convention.
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) was approved for just over $5,000 for members to attend the NSBE annual conference in Detroit, Michigan, where members of every chapter of the society will gather to network and find job and internship opportunities, as well as discuss options for graduate school.
The Graduate Planning Student Association (GPSA), which focuses primarily on city planning, sustainability planning, transportation and housing, was granted approximately $5,700 for its members to attend the American Planning Association conference in San Francisco.
This conference is an opportunity for GPSA students to network and search for job and internship opportunities with established organizations. The next Senate meeting is set to take place on Thursday, March 21 in the England Evans suite at the Bronco Student Center at 3 p.m.
