The Bronco Shuttle app received a new and updated display this January because of previous complaints about the app not having accurate shuttle times displayed for users.  The updated app is supposed to be considered more user-friendly since it provides an accessibility mode where users are able to search for their location through the app to pinpoint Bronco Shuttle stops and times.

The new look to the app was created by a group of student assistants in the information technology, mobile and web applications department. The students worked on the app over the summer while being supervised by the executive director of mobile and web applications, Tim Raymond.

Although the app has just been updated, some users are still encountering glitches.

“I like the app, but sometimes when (it is) out of service or on a break, it doesn’t give you an exact answer to what’s going on,” said Summer Viets, a fourth-year history student. “Other than that, it’s been helpful. I know whether I should just take a walk or wait for the next shuttle.”

One of the new features of the app is being able to see the specific pick-up and drop-off times as well as the routes of each shuttle. It is also possible to give feedback on the app through the home page.

“I have been using the app, and I find it very helpful. However, sometimes the (estimated time of arrival) is not accurate,” said Alejandro Escobar, a third-year nutrition student. “I really like that I can see the routes and the times of each shuttle. This gives me a good idea when the bus is expected to arrive.”

As well as an update to the app, the Bronco Shuttle now has a stop by the Student Services Building (SSB, Building 121), which takes students to the North Pomona Metrolink station. The new shuttle service will pass by hourly from the SSB between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The app does not include the times to and from the Metrolink station yet.

Students are able to access live shuttle information through www.broncoshuttle.com or through the CPP mobile app under Maps and Transit.
