Fox Theater Pomona

Coming up Saturday, Feb. 9, Sunset Palm Productions is throwing the Pomona Valley Music Festival at the Fox Theater Pomona starting at 4 p.m.

There will be 35 performances among the three stages the venue has to offer.

Belleview, Sweet Pill and Prismcluster are three of the bands performing; they include a mix of your fellow CPP students and alum. You can check their social media accounts for set times.

Tickets are sold for $15 online and $20 at the door.

This music festival is an all-age event so grab some friends and go rock out for the night.

Fox Tower Rooftop

Later on in the month, Sunset Palm Productions will be throwing another event at the Fox Tower Rooftop on Feb. 22.

There will be a $10 cover charge, but it is another all-ages event.

Bands to expect are Mammoth Bloom, Ear Ringers, Beach Clinic and Sola Luna.

Another venue to keep an eye out for, located in Downtown Pomona, is DBA256 Bar & Gallery (DBA), with tons of shows coming up this month.

DBA is known to offer weekly, bi-weekly and monthly themed shows such as Wine-Down Wednesdays and Thirsty Thursdays.

LIPSTICKSANDLEVIS

If you don’t have any plans for Feb. 14, do not worry, LIPSTICKSANDLEVIS is presenting a Valentine’s show for you.

The event, Modern Kicks, will be starting that Thursday at 8:30 p.m. and will be ending around 12:30 a.m.

This will be a 21+ event, so do not forget your IDs.

You can enjoy the love from the four bands who want to spend their Valentine’s Day with you — Situations, the Ugly Kids, Storm Coast and Big Spoon.

DBA

The following night, Feb. 15, host Emo Night Pomona will be throwing its Emo Night Welcome Back party at the DBA. This event has no cover fee but is 21+ and will begin at about 8 p.m. and end approximately at 1:30 a.m. Get ready to mosh out to bands Calmgrove, Havoc Faction, HOLO and a surprise guest DJ.

Do you consider yourself a musician, poet or even a comedian?

On the first and third Tuesdays of the month, DBA holds Pomona’s Got Talent Open Mic Night. This month it will take place on Tuesdays, Feb. 5 and 19. Sign-ups start at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. and will go until 11 p.m. Again, this is a 21+ event.

If you are interested in showing off your talent, you will be allowed five minutes or two songs. To all you musicians, this is an individual performance; therefore, no bands.

Above are only a handful of the shows and bands that will be rocking out during the month of February. So, if you need to take a break from the intense studying you are doing, then there is no better way to clear your mind than to go and soak up all the energy these shows have to offer.
