CPP students share their Halloween costume plans

Halloween is a time to dress up as your favorite character, theme or idea that allows individuals to pretend to be someone or something unique that reflects with and represents their personality and current interests. CPP students answer what their dressing up as for Halloween this year and what their favorite costume was when they were younger.  

Priscilla Castro | psychology student 

“This year I’m actually going to be Shakira. My inspiration for that is my boyfriend loves Shakira, and then my second costume is Cupid, I just saw something cute on TikTok.”  

“I like the traditional me being in a pumpkin, growing up my family would put the youngest cousin in the pumpkin, and I think that one is something that stuck with me the most.” 

 

 

 

 

Nick Uribe | finance, real estate and law student 

“I’m dressing up as Batman because he was my favorite superhero growing up.”  

“When I was younger my favorite costume was also Batman.” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chinenye Nwosu | gender and ethnic studies student 

“This year it’s super last minute, but me and my friends are going to dress up as fairies. It’s something cute and easy.” 

“When I was younger, I dressed up as Pikachu like four times, it was one of my favorite series growing up.” 

 

 

 

 

Madeleine Zavala | hospitality student 

“Me and one of my close friends are dressing up together this year as Captain Hook. We just thought about cute Disney costumes and how easy it would be to make.” 

“Honestly, I loved the Teletubbies when I was younger, I used to dress up as the yellow Teletubby.”  

 

 

 

 

 

Chloe Soto | political science student 

“I’m going to be a cheetah this year for Halloween because it’s one of my favorite animals and I love wildlife.” 

“My mom loved the Wizard of Oz movie, so being Dorothy when I was younger made her happy and put a smile on her face.”  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Priscilla Coronel | music student 

“I don’t have a costume yet, but me and some friends have in mind to do a group costume, maybe Marvel so that could be exciting.” 

“I definitely dressed up as Disney princesses most of my childhood, it was fun and cute as a kid.” 

 

 

 

 

 

Sam Lena | civil engineering student 

“For Halloween I’m dressing up as the Joker and my girl is Poison Ivy, I could be Harley Quinn.“Growing up all I ever had was a giant skeleton costume that I just grew into as I got older.” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

David Vargas | computer science student 

“For Halloween I’m dressing up as Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. I think he’s a pretty interesting character from the movie so I thought it would be fun to dress up as him for one Halloween.” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Caleb Nelson | finance, real estate and law student  

“I’m going to be a SWAT team security guard; I just saw the costume at spirit Halloween and thought it looked cool and it’s something I haven’t done before.” 

“I was Kobe Bryant one year, with a Kobe Bryant jersey, that was probably my favorite costume out of all of them.” 

 

 

 

 

Hailey Lee | civil engineering student 

“I’m dressing up as an old person, it was really last minute. I’m just going to go to the store and whatever looks old I’m going to get it.” 

“I’m from Hawaii so when I was younger, I used to dress up as Lilo.”
