Highly anticipated concert happening Friday

All students are welcome to attend the annual BroncoFusion concert held at the Bronco Commons on Aug. 23 from 8:30 p.m. until midnight.

An email has been sent to the entire student body with information about the event. According to the email, ticket sales began Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. The prices are $5 for each student and $20 for one guest per Cal Poly Pomona student. Although students of all ages can attend, guests must be 18 years or older with an ID confirming age to enter.

BroncoFusion is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, and students are anxious to find out who will be headlining and performing. According to Hailey Triay, outreach supervisor for Associated Students Inc. (ASI), her team is waiting on an approval from its marketing department to get back to her. Triay says she will give more insight as soon as she can.

“I am excited to see who will be performing,” said Justin Izuhara, sixth-year communication major. “It is awesome that we can attend such an event for such a little price.”

While the ASI and the Bronco Events and Activities Team (BEAT) are still working on the lineup, the student opening DJs have been announced. According to them, the student openers will be third-year students Martin Peredo and Dominic Hang and will be showcasing their music and talent on the big stage in front of hundreds of their peers for the event.

Peredo (aka Supmartin) started creating four years ago and said he will play “Soulection” music, which he describes as a mix of hip-hop, R&B, afrobeats, neo-soul, jazz, trap and future beats all compiled into a mix.

Hang (aka Yungwhispers) on the other hand, has been deejaying for 12 years and will play trap, hard trap and hard dance. He says his music is similar to the famous producer DJ Carnage.

Incoming first-year political science major Christopher Tapia had not heard of the concert before being contacted by The Poly Post, but after some explanation, he believes it will be a great experience.

“I do think it is great because it gives students a chance to engage with others and also have a good time,” Tapia said.

ASI and BEAT will announce the full lineup for the concert soon. They both encourage students to follow their social media for updates on the event.

Incoming first year and transfer students can register now for the CPP Fest on Aug. 21 as more information about the concert becomes available.
