The Poly Post Excellence Fund
The Poly Post, Cal Poly Pomona’s student-run news organization has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support student journalists during the 2023-2024 academic year. If you are passionate about supporting the First Amendment, student journalism and care about diversifying newsrooms in California and beyond, we urge you to consider supporting The Poly Post.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in new challenges in securing ad revenue and revenue has not returned to pre-pandemic levels. In addition, the multimedia journalism program and the size of The Poly Post staff has increased. The Communication Department now includes approximately 150 multimedia journalism majors and Poly Post staff has grown to more than 60 students and includes staff writers, videographers, photographers, editors, graphic designers, social media managers, and marketing assistants. This campaign will be critical in supporting a variety of needs for our growing staff and our priorities for this campaign include:
- Increase professional development, workshop opportunities for staff.
- Provide leadership scholarships to students serving as Poly Post editors.
- Add work stations to accommodate growing staff and media platforms.
The Poly Post recognizes and appreciates your support. With your generosity, we can improve our ability to carry out our roles as student journalists for our campus community.
