ASI Announces Tap In to Wellness Campaign, Requests Poly Trolley Locations

By Allen Liu, September 9, 2025

The Associated Students, Incorporated board of directors announced a new Tap In to Wellness campaign for students, faculty and staff at its meeting Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Dean of Students Weston Prisbrey presented the initiative by Student Affairs to provide students, faculty and staff with opportunities to take care of their wellbeing

“The purpose of the campaign is to create space for pause, create space for reflection, in what we know is a vital time for academics and everything else going on in life,” Prisbrey said.

One component of the Tap In to Wellness campaign is Wellness Wednesdays, which are held every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Care Center. Events vary week to week, but they tend to focus on mental and physical health. The events range from aromatherapy and food to CPR training and health education.

Tacos and Talk is scheduled for Sept. 10, providing chicken tacos and time to speak with the Care Center about wellness. According to Prisbrey, Labubus will also be provided.

Another component is Wellness Fest, an event scheduled for Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Quad. According to the website, tarot card readings and massages will be provided, along with food. There will also be a bingo event, and the first 75 students to fill out their bingo cards will win a limited edition Billybubu.

Tap In to Wellness also has an Instagram page at @cpp.tap.in.The Instagram page also features several interviews with students discussing how they maintain their wellbeing. t The page can be found at https://www.instagram.com/cpp.tap.in/.

ASI also announced a callout for potential areas where the Poly Trolley should go. Bia Machain, the ASI Vice President, asked for proposals for underserved parts of campus that could use a Poly Trolley visit.

“If you especially have somewhere that you’re like, I need this here now,’ feel free to say something,” Machain said.

One board member suggested putting the Poly Tolley by Building 1. While it does have a vending machine, it usually isn’t fully stocked.

Another topic of discussion at the meeting was ASI’s financial reporting for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. Aldrich CPAs & Advisors LLP audited ASI’s financial statements and financial controls for this fiscal year. Andy Maffia, partner at Aldrich Advisors, presented to the board an unmodified, clean opinion, the best opinion any auditor can issue on any financial statement, according to Maffia.

Also announced was new Business Senator, Aidan Cong.

ASI’s next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 2:30pm to 4pm. According to the agenda, action items for discussion include approval of the sustainability and campus liaisons.
