Ysabel Trinidad, the vice president of the Division of Administration Finance and Strategic Development and chief financial officer, submitted her intent to resign from her position at the end of 2024, according to University President Soraya M. Coley in a public Cal Poly Pomona Philanthropic Foundation board meeting Sept. 9.
Coley sent out a campus-wide email shortly after making the announcement during the meeting, where she detailed Trinidad’s impact on the campus and expressed gratitude for her work.
“At CPP, she has overseen the departments of Facilities Planning & Management, Financial Services, Budget Planning & Analysis, Risk Management, the University Police Department, and CPP Enterprises,” Coley stated in the email announcement. “I am grateful to Ms. Trinidad for her contributions to our campus and particularly for advancing valuable improvements to our administrative infrastructure as well as maintaining a strong financial position for the university amid a challenging budget environment for the CSU.”
When asked for an interview, Trinidad did not respond in time for publication. However, the CPP strategic communications department replied with a statement from Trinidad as she preferred not to give interviews.
“I am proud of my work at Cal Poly Pomona,” Trinidad said in the email statement from strategic communications. “Cal Poly Pomona and the CSU as a whole play an incredibly important role helping our students achieve their education dreams and pursue rewarding careers. I am pleased to have contributed to that important mission.”
Trinidad joined CPP’s administration in July 2021 from CSU Channel Islands, where she served as the vice president for business and financial affairs since 2011 and worked on the university’s 10-year capital expansion plan totaling $850 million, according to the email sent by Coley.
According to the email, Trinidad has worked at CPP for three years and has been a part of the California State University system for 14.
While at CPP, Trinidad oversaw the demolition of the prominent CLA Building and the construction of The Park at 98 that stands in its place and worked to modernize the laboratories at CPP.
Coley is seeking Trinidad’s successor and stated she will share more information as the search progresses. Coley also mentioned she will be sharing more information about plans for the continuity of leadership in the Division of Administration Finance and Strategic Development.
