What, if any, personal information do we collect from users visiting our site, newsletter, or app?

We collect names and email addresses, on a voluntary basis only, for users that wish to enroll in our weekly newsletter. We collect names and mailing addresses, on a voluntary basis only, for users that would like to receive a hard copy of our print edition or Bronco Guide.

Users are allowed to browse our website anonymously. Users who wish to voluntarily comment on content posted to our website set up an Akismet account, a service that protects comment and contact form spam from WordPress sites. Akismet typically collects account holders IP address, user agent, referrer, and site URL. Akismet also collects a commenters name, username, email address, and the comments posted to our website. We do not collect any identifying personal information from users browsing our website anonymously, nor do we collect any payments or other transactional information from our site.

 

How do we use your information?

When you register for the newsletter, we use your email address to promptly process your enrollment in our weekly newsletter – and for no additional uses. No personally identifiable information is collected when anonymously surfing our website or app.

We do collect some data through Google Analytics, but these data are limited to number of users, the location country of those users, and the number of clicks on our website content. Through Mailchimp, we also track the number of clicks on newsletter content; however, no Personally Identifiable Information is collected.

 

How do we store and protect your information?

Names, email addresses, and mailing addresses that are voluntarily provided to The Poly Post are only accessible by editorial personnel employed by our organization. Our also website uses WPBruiser, an anti-spam and security plugin. Akismet is used to protect commenters from comment spam and contact form spam.

 

Third-party data disclosure.

Under no circumstances do we sell, provide, or transfer your Personally Identifiable Information to outside third parties. This policy may not apply to our website hosting partners, WP Engine, that help to operate and maintain our website; however, these partners must keep PII confidential. Non-PII user information may be provided to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not include third-party services or products on our website or app.

Our website does not use cookies. Cookies are threads of data that a website stores within a user’s computer, with the user’s browser providing that information to the website each time the user visits the website. Ads appearing on our website or newsletter from partnering advertisers may use cookies that collect information from visitors of their sites in order to customize advertisements. How do I unsubscribe?

Newsletter subscribers may opt out of receiving emails at any time. Subscribers may simply update their email preferences or click “unsubscribe from the list” found at the bottom of each newsletter. Cancelled subscriptions will process within 5 to 7 business days.
