Broncos send their best

The Mt. San Antonio College Relays took place this past weekend
with over 15,000 athletes participating, including four from Cal

The Broncos sent senior runner Tiffany Turner, junior distance
runner Jersain Torres, Assistant Head Coach Joel Stallworth and
senior long jumper Jasmine Winn.The world famous relays, which
usually last three days, began Thursday night for the Broncos with
Turner running in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She finished in
12th place with a time of 11:01.80. The time breaks her old school
record of 11:08.87.

Cal Poly’s action resumed on Friday morning with Torres running
in the 5,000-meter. He finished in 36th place out of 47 with a time
of 14:55.00.On Saturday, the Broncos had Stallworth running the
400-meter dash and Winn in the long jump.

Stallworth finished fourth overall with a time of 46.68.

Winn finished last in her event with her best jump coming in at
5.33 meters.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Cal Poly track and field team was at
the Azusa Pacific Invitational.

Winn and Torres participated in both the Mt. SAC Relays and the
Azusa Pacific Invitational. Winn registered a distance of 18 feet
and 10 and 3/4 inches. The distance improved her season best.
