Breast Cancer Awareness Month highlighted in Pomona

Breast Cancer Awareness month is about showing recognition and giving back to the community with the help of donations and volunteering all month long. All donations received will not only help bring awareness about breast cancer, but help the cause to finding a cure.

Here is how students can give back and participate in events:

Oct. 13: The Pomona Police Department was at the Pomona Swap Meet located at 1101 W. McKinley Ave, Pomona, and set up a main booth where pink patches, pins, T-shirts, bracelets, coins and more were sold.

According to pomonaswapmeet.com, all money raised went to the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center for all treatment, education and research to find a cure for breast cancer.

This center is located at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where patients with cancer can go for treatment and services.

All month long, the Pomona Police Department will be selling their pink patches at 490 W. Mission Blvd., Pomona, for anyone that couldn’t make it to the Pomona Swap Meet last Sunday.

Oct. 17: ASI is hosting Pink Palooza in the Bronco Commons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. along with multiple clubs and Greek life students to help raise money and gather students’ attention to breast cancer on campus.

Free food and vendors will be available. All money raised will go to the City of Hope.

Oct. 19: Ink’d Chronicles Tattoo, located at 264 W. 2nd St., Pomona, will be donating all of the money made on Oct. 19 from tattoos given to the City of Hope.

Ink’d Chronicles Tattoo will be raising money on Oct. 19 for City of Hope from the proceeds of all breast cancer ribbon tattoos given.
