CPP Fest preview

The Cal Poly Pomona Fest will kick off the first week back to school, Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. across campus.

There will be ongoing activities including a technology fair, part-time job fair and club fair for all students to attend. In between activities, free lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Plaza and University Park.

“I would go [to the CPP Fest] for the fun and games,” said Jessica Walters, a fourth-year kinesiology-exercise science student.

Walters is enticed by the free food and events the CPP Fest has to offer, as she will soak in all the opportunities that will be available, such as building skill sets and networking among other students.

The fest itself will be held between 1-3 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center, University Park and Bronco Commons, where there will be free activities, music, games available in the Games Room Etc. and more.

Betsy Delahoya, fourth-year communication student, is a residential marketing assistant for CPP Dining. She and her team will be part of this year’s CPP Fest. “I expect there to be many clubs and many students intrigued in all the fun clubs we have here on campus,” Delahoya said. “I look forward to participating in fun activities.”

Delahoya and her organization will be handing out free goodies at the CPP Fest to students who visit her table.

The event is also a great chance for incoming freshmen to explore the campus, network and create new friends among their CPP peers.

Jamie Gutierrez, third-year kinesiology student, is one of many students that is ready to join different clubs at the CPP Fest and kick off the fall semester.
