Kellogg exit closure to affect commute

Students share their thoughts on how the Kellogg exit closure on interstate 10 will impact commutes.

Stephanie Garcia | Fourth-year food science and technology student

“I don’t normally take the freeway, but it sounds like my traffic wait will be a lot longer than maybe two hours.”

Scott Kelly | Fourth-year marketing student

“It will probably delay me. I already have to spend an hour extra to find parking.”

Vivian Banh | Second-year liberal studies student

“My morning commute will make me have to wake up earlier than I do already, then to find parking too, then I’ll be late to class.”

Andy Zhang | Third-year computer information systems student

“Hopefully it doesn’t affect my health because I’ll be getting a lack of sleep to find alternative ways to get to school, considering traffic.”

Diana Urrutia | Third-year kinesiology student

“The 10 freeway is my second route home, so I’ll probably have to take the streets which will take longer for me.”

Harrison Hsieh | Second-year electrical computer engineering student

“Absolutely nothing. I take local streets. I don’t drive during peak hours either.”

Enixe Aguilar | Third-year aerospace engineering student

“I don’t take the freeways, but it will make my streets busier, so I’ll have to come earlier because their routes are closed.”

Aaron Ferrer | Fourth-year accounting  and computer information systems student

“I’ll have to take side-streets, which will take longer so that’s a hassle …. I guess it’s just something we’ll all have to go through.”
