Innovation Brew Works introduces double vision hazy IPA

Innovation Brew Works is as the name suggest: innovative.

They are coming up with new creative ideas on a weekly basis, and this week, they have a surprise for those IPA lovers.

They recently launched a new double IPA called the Double Vision Hazy IPA.

Double Vision Hazy IPA

As the name suggests, the beer is hazy. It’s orange with a good head retention.

The head itself is white, and it is a bit lacey.

It’s smells a bit like guava and the hops command the aroma.

The smell is misleading as the beer isn’t as bitter as one would think from smelling it.

At first taste, one can taste the roasted barley that gives it a malty flavor.

There is also a hint of banana. The beer first became available last Friday.

Avocado Toast

The Avocado Toast features avocado, tomatoes, mayo and mixed greens in between two pieces of toasted sourdough.

The creaminess of the avocado and mayo cut the acidity of the tomato.

The toasted sourdough compliments the ingredients and gives a nice crunch.

The beer paired complimented the creaminess of the avocado toast.

The flavor of the roasted barley was almost nonexistent.

This is last week’s weekly special, but you can always try to ask for it.

Turkey Toast

This week’s weekly special is the Turkey Toast.

The sandwich is made of thinly sliced turkey, honey, grilled pear and goat cheese in between two pieces of toasted sourdough.

This combination doesn’t sound appealing, but you are in for a pleasant surprise. The sweetness of the pair and honey pair contrast well with the saltiness of the turkey.

The goat cheese doesn’t over power the other ingredients and subtly makes its presence felt.

The beer contrasted with the Turkey Toast.

You immediately tasted the bitterness of the beer after taking a bite of the sandwich.

Brew Works created something special for the graduating class of 2018. They will release graduation beers for the first time ever. A rye whiskey barrel aged Belgian-style quadrupel and a bourbon barrel-aged Belgian-style quadrupel will headline class of 2018. Brew works plans to do this for every graduating class from now on. The great thing about these beers is that you can age them. Both beers will be offered on tap and in 750 ml bottles starting June 6.
