Instead of walking to multiple departments to ask questions about various university procedures, students can now make a single trip to the new One Stop Student Services.
One Stop is located in the CLA building next to the Registrar’s Office on the second floor.
Students now have the convenience of visiting One Stop to have their questions answered on subjects such as billing, financial aid, registration, academic records, orientation and even replacing a student ID.
A staff of counselors is there to help students through the transition into a college-paced lifestyle.
Enrollment counselor Soleil Burgess enjoys being there to assist students.
“We’re here to help them through the roadblocks so they can focus and stay in school,” said Burgess.
With the help of more counselors and advisors, students are able to release some of the pressure that comes with adapting to a college campus. Counselors at One Stop guide students through various tasks such as paperwork and finding the right department in a particular career field.
The office contains workstations and university forms to complete tasks quickly.
Sebastian Bresson is an incoming student who came to One Stop in need of help with enrolling as a full-time student.
“I’m very satisfied,” said Bresson. “Everything turned out fine.”
Victoria Alderete, a third-year student, was also satisfied with her quick visit. She needed help figuring out why she had not received her student ID yet.
One Stop also has student ambassadors to assist students with the Individual Academic Plan, a tool to keep students on track towards graduation.
One Stop aims to ease students’ transition process into the university system by providing a centralized support location.
