The women’s tennis team rebounded from its four-game losing
streak to win two of their three matches last week.

The Lady Broncos beat Cal State Los Angeles 7-2 Thursday; Sonoma
State 5-4 Friday, but ended the weekend with a 9-0 loss against UC
San Diego on Saturday.

The two wins and one loss put the Lady Broncos overall record at
8-11 and CCAA record at 5-4.

Their first win came against cross-town rival Cal State Los
Angeles. Having beaten the Golden Eagles earlier in the season the
Lady Broncos looked to complete the season sweep. The Golden Eagles
doubles team of Ducanovic and Espinosa defeated sophomore Jennifer
Chow and junior Fallon Blatter 8-6. However, the Lady Broncos did
end up winning the next two doubles matches easily, 8-2 and

Cal Poly continued their victorious ways by winning five of the
six singles matches. Everyone but Chow registered a victory against
their CSULA opponent throughout the day. The Lady Broncos secured
their second win of the weekend by beating Sonoma State the
following day, 5-4. This time around the doubles team of Blattner
and Chow claimed a victory to begin the day.

The Golden Eagles and Lady Broncos then split the next two
doubles matches as well as the singles matches.

To close the weekend, Cal Poly faced UC San Diego in their first
home match of the regular season. However, the Lady Broncos could
not pull the win and came away with a 9-0 loss. Junior Mallory
Brady and Sophomore Michelle Stock each came close to winning their
matches, but lost in tie-breakers.

The Lady Broncos go into their last match of the season
tommorrow at Cal State Stanislaus.
