The Asian and Pacific Islander Student Center will host Urban
Showcase tomorrow night in the Bronco Student Center featuring
dance performances by Team Millennia.
The showcase, part of month long festivities in celebration of
Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, begins at 7 p.m. in Ursa

to the question, “Who am I?” The idea follows that of Kip Fulbeck,
who compiled portraits of mixed race individuals and their
responses in a book titled “Part Asian, 100% Hapa.” Students of all
ethnicities were invited to have their picture taken in the APISC
Following the exhibit, which will be paired with a History of
Hip Hop and Performance gallery, Vice President of Student Affairs
Doug Freer will welcome the guests and introduce the first
Team Millennia, a Fullerton-based dance crew, competed in the
third season of Randy Jackson’s competition show, “America’s Best
Cathy Nguyen, known for her popular singing videos on YouTube,
will be singing alongside Randolph Permejo. Other musical acts
include Barkada Modern and Far East Movement.
“It’s important to recognize and embrace hip hop culture within
the Asian and Pacific Islander communities,” said event
co-coordinator Jackie Walker.
Admission to the showcase is free and more information can be
