Library to have ‘soft opening’ in June

By Cielestia Calbay

The University Library is scheduled to host a “soft opening” of
the main entry June 23.

The main entry and second floor will be open to the public, so
the temporary entry on the east side of the building will be
removed.

The soft opening will allow the library department to begin
re-shelving the new library tasks, as well as deliveries and
installation of furniture and equipment, which will continue over
the next months. A majority of the deliveries are expected to be
completed before the fall quarter.

The Starbucks Coffee project located next to the library is
scheduled to be completed by Fall 2008. The library grand opening,
which will open the third and fourth floor addition, is scheduled
for the 2008 Fall Conference.
