Tennis Teams Suffer Losses

Men’s Tennis

The men’s tennis team found defeat in its second match of the
season against the visiting Westmont College Warriors Thursday at
the Kellogg Tennis Complex.

The Broncos (1-1) took two doubles matches but only one singles
match and lost 6-3.

In the top singles position, freshman Joshua Lau lost to J.B.
Schiller, 7-5, 6-0. In the second singles position, junior Mike
Palacio lost to Burke Marold, 5-7, 6-4 (6-4).

Freshman Joe Madoo lost to Davis Moore in the No. 3 match, 6-3,
7-5. Senior Rau Saavedra Jr. lost to Arthur Kalayjian in the No. 4
match, 6-4, 6-1.

Sophomore Dan Evangelista lost to Ryan Shultz in the No. 5
match, 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Justin Gong won the only point for the
Broncos in singles play by defeating Riley Schultz in the No. 6
match, 6-3, 4-6 (6-1).

In doubles action, Lau and Palacio defeated Marold and Shultz in
the No. 1 match, 8-1. Madoo and sophomore Eric Carlstrom defeated
Kalayjian and Moore in the No. 2 match, 8-5. Saavedra and
Evangelista lost to Schultz and Schiller in the No. 3 match,
8-4.
