The heat is making its way back to California, and the organizers of Paint on Canvas are offering a way to cool off pool side while also offering a free painting class.

Whether you want to relieve stress, hang out with friends, cool off on a hot day or embrace your inner  Pablo Picasso this event has you covered.

Associated Students, Inc. will be hosting Paint on Canvas May 10, 6:30 p.m. at the Bronco Recreation and Intramural Complex pool deck.

With the increasing popularity of the Paint on Canvas event, the location of the event is being moved from the Games Room Etc. to the BRIC pool deck to accommodate more students.

The event has become a popular Cal Poly staple to the point where the events are packed to the brim.

It is not hard tell why Paint on Canvas continues to be one of the most popular arts and crafts events on campus.

Even with the bigger space afforded by the pool deck, The Games Room Etc. is expecting a high turnout of around 45 to 50 students and will begin a waitlist once all spots are filled.

At the event a knowledgable painting instructor will be guiding students on how to paint their own pieces on their personal canvases.

So if you feel like you are not the best artist, do not worry.

Painting supplies will be given, free of charge,  to all students that attend the event.

Second-year computer science student and games room attendant Jordan Lam encourages all students to attend the event with friends to destress during midterms.

“My opinion is that this event is probably my favorite because it’s totally free and it’s always popular,” says Lam. “It’s an event where students can go to escape from reality and enjoy the night to relax and paint to relieve stress.”

Students will be able to take home their masterpieces after the event is over too.

Don’t risk missing out on the event!

With or without you, the event is going to be packed, so take full advantage of this fun campus event.

Sign-up before May 10 in the Games Room to avoid being waitlisted.
