Brew Works to host third anniversary celebration

First call for beer. Calling all beer fans, connoisseurs and enthusiasts. The Innovation Brew works family is coming together to celebrate their 3rd year anniversary, and are inviting you to join.

“I am proud of how much the team has come together and how much they really enjoy their job, enjoy each other’s company and they work together really well,” IBW manager Melody Young said. “Their beer knowledge has increased tremendously.”

The event will be 1 p.m. to 4:40 p.m., April 21 at Innovation Brew Works located in Cal Poly’s Innovation Village.

Innovation Brew Works is a professionally managed café and brewery located at Innovation Village on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, according to the facility’s web site.

IBW offers learning-by-doing under the slogan tagline “Crafting an Education,” offering hands-on experience with brewing and brewpub.

IBW employees are all about beer, and they will be talking, pouring and offering samples.

IBW will be joined by eight other breweries and the Cal Poly Pomona home brew club.

Breweries include Ritual Brewing Co.; Main Street Brewery; No Clue Craft Brewery; REV Winery and Brewing Company, and Mt. Lowe Brewing Co.

Also, Alosta Brewing Company, Sanctum Brewing Company, Last Name Brewing and a SoCal home brew club, Horse Thief Brewers.

Young hopes for a big turnout from the CPP community – with the requirement that everyone attending be 21 years or older.

“I’m looking forward to celebrating our three years in business,” Young said.

“I hope everyone will come and have a good time and be educated on a variety of beer styles.”

Event planners expect about 250 people to attend.

The band Sincerely, Me is scheduled to perform from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., with Couches & Co to follow from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Featured will be brewery games, a photo booth and free popcorn.

The Polly Trolley will sell food, offering all of its student-made cuisine.

IBW will also be featuring a special release beer list at the event.

Tickets are available at ibrewworks.com and are $35 in advance or $40 at the door.

The event’s anniversary wristband includes beer samples, a Limited Edition IBW anniversary T-shirt and commemorative tasting glass.

A CPP faculty/staff two-pack bundle costs $60.

A designated driver wristband costs $10 and includes a T-shirt and bottomless soda.

Last call will be 4:15 p.m. and last pours will be 4:20 p.m., with the event closing at 4:30 p.m.
