SCSF to present Romeo and Juliet

Theater lovers rejoice! Shakespeare is returning to Southern California this summer.

Crowds of all ages are welcome to attend season 14 of the Southern California Shakespeare Festival.

The Shakespeare Festival will be presenting Romeo and Juliet, directed by Robert Shields.

SCSF was established 14 years ago by professor Linda Bisesti for the purpose of helping students become better actors, build a professional career in their resume for acting and to entertain local crowds.

“Students should attend the event because it’s really good theatre. It’s a wonderful play and I think everyone will really enjoy it,” said Bisesti.

This event consists of professional Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) actors, guest AEA actors, student actors, and designers from Cal Poly Pomona’s department of theatre and new dance.

A total of 28 actors and about 20 individuals involved in the tech component and theatre will take part for this upcoming play.

Opening night will be 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24. After an eight day run, the performances will end on with a 2 p.m. matinee show on Sunday Sept. 9.

Tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday June 1.

Tickets available for purchase at the door will be limited so make sure to purchase in advance online.
